Chance ends football career

The football season is over, and it was another great year for the Chadron State Eagles, three-time winner of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. Although they lost their second round NCAA Division II playoff game to Minnesota-Duluth, they chalked up 11 wins against just two losses for the year.

It also marked the end of Chance Galey's football career with the Eagles. It's been a fun year following Chance and the Eagles. We didn't attend all of the games, but enough to appreciate the great job they did. We know that Chance's dad, Gary Gene, wasn't able to attend all of the games either, but at the home games, he almost always had a camera in hand. He captured the photo above of Chance "discussing" with a referee the fact that a defensive opponent made off with his helmet!
This photo is Chance with Gary Gene after one of the late-season home games. Needless to say, all the Galey clan is proud of Chance's performance on the field and in the classroom. When the president of CSC heaps praise upon a student, it's usually well deserved. Way to go, Chance!
